Hunting to fill your to-go bag with the right essentials for makeup wear? 1. Setting Spray

This is the last stage of your makeup, right?  So, why are you going to bring that with you?  You may possibly need to change a few details during a coffee break, so that means you’ll need more spray!  You don’t necessarily need to bring the bottle with you, but you’ll want to find a travel equivalent.

2. Foundation:

There’s always that one spot that needs a touch-up around mid-afternoon, right?  Make sure that you’ve got an easy foundation on you. That way, you can fix up that little detail and always look your best.  While you may not use it every time, it’s nice to know that you’ve got it available to you if you need it! That’s what this is all about. Right?

3. Mascara:

If this isn’t a staple in your various purses and bags, it really should be.  Mascara is always a simple one to touch up and it is often needed when you want to keep those eyes looking their best.  Get one t that is all about length and volume.  It’s touch-up friendly and it’ll be the easiest one to put on without having to worry about clumping.

4. Eyeliner: 

From pencil to liquid to gel and beyond, never go anywhere without some eyeliner!  While liquid doesn’t often need to be touched up, you never know!  Bring it with you so that you are ready to even out a wonky cat’s eye, or dot that waterline that looks a little light. These days, there are several options that you can choose from. Many will enjoy the control of the gel but may end up switching to pencil. This is definitely one of your top 7 essentials.

5. Lipstick:

From laughing to smiling to snacking, lipstick is always going to be a need.  You’ll want to always have the right shade to dab on or even reapply entirely if you feel you need it.  When reapplying it, remember to blot and that less is more!  Overdone lipstick will always look, well, overdone.  Plus, it’s a good habit to get into anyway for a more natural look.

6. Lipbalm:

An oldie but a goodie.  Also often skipped in most kits.  Hate that cakey feel of lipstick?  If so, you need to have a light lip balm on hand that you use to help your lips feel more comfortable.  Get one that goes on smooth and won’t smear your lipstick unintentionally. We recommend going with a moisturizing and SPF in one if at all possible.  May as well do a little bit of everything, after all, right?

7. Makeup remover wipes:

Wait, what?  Yes, you read that correctly.  Startled while re-applying, or you forget you’re wearing eyeliner and rub your eye, sometimes makeup just needs to be removed. Also, throw in a package of makeup remover wipes that you can trust. You don’t want to be scrubbing at runny mascara with tissues. Even if you never use them, it’s best to be safe rather than sorry when it comes to having what you need close by.  

Bonus Tip:

If you think about adding something to your kit, then add it!   This is a general list that is going to be helpful for starting you off, but it doesn’t mean that it’s going to be perfect like this every single time.  Need an angled brush?  Add one in.  Want to rely on something like an oil-absorbing wipe?  Do it. After all, The goal of a to-go bag is having the essentials that you miss when you are not at home.

Preparing yourself to leave the house is as much going to be as having your favorite cosmetics close by.  When you pick your bag, make sure that it’ll fit all of these essentials and that this bag itself will fit into your purse, work bag, car, etc.
